Abstract

This essay seeks to examine the nature of the new Marital Property Act of New Brunswick and to make comparisons between it and other reforming legislation such as that of Ontario. The article analyses the conditions in which the new law applies together with the rules governing matrimonial property, non-matrimonial assets and the matrimonial home.
