Abstract

The purpose of this article is to measure the extent to which capacity-building for seniors in Tracadie has been reinforced by change between 2014 and 2021, to promote aging in the local community. The two approaches employed are a longitudinal case study and social representations. Although there are many similarities between the situation observed in 2014 and that of 2021, it is difficult to offer a precise diagnosis of the evolution of the abilities of Tracadie seniors. Nevertheless, there seems to be a consolidation of social capital, a sense of belonging and empowerment, and a decline in participation and relationships.
