Geoscience Canada, a subscription-based journal, is transitioning to an Open Access model that aligns with the goals and support of the Geological Association of Canada (GAC®) activities. The GAC is a national learned society that makes significant contributions to the promotion and development of the geological sciences in Canada through publications, awards, conferences, meetings and exhibitions.

Geoscience Canada Volume 51 (2024) papers will be published under the terms of Green Open Access. Authors may post a copy of the formally accepted (post-peer review) pre-layout version of their paper with a link to the published article online (i.e. identifying the Journal, volume, issue, and provide the URL: https://journals.lib.unb.ca/index.php/GC/). Authors are requested to replace the pre-layout version post after the 1-year subscription embargo has ended with Geoscience Canada’s final published version (PDF). The formally accepted article, in pre-layout form, may be posted without delay on the author’s personal website or in a repository of their choosing.
