Kathleen Mahoney, QC, FRSC, University of Calgary

Kathleen Mahoney, QC, FRSC is Professor of Law at the University of Calgary. She was the Chief Negotiator for the Assembly of First Nations for the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement. She also served as the AFN representative on the National Administration Committee (NAC) for the Settlement Agreement from 2007 until 2018. The NAC mandate was to oversee the implementation of the Agreement and hear appeals for the common experience payments. She also represented many individual survivors in their claims for compensation under the terms of the settlement agreement during the same period.
