Author Biographies

Sherrie-Lynn Jeannette Doğurga, The University of New Brunswick

From Newfoundland, Sherrie-Lynn Doğurga M.Ed. is a Canadian-Turkish educator. Her research interests include decolonizing education, critical feminist nomadism, transnational curriculum, maternal thought and practice. Sherrie worked in a Turkish national school as a teacher/administrator for fifteen years.  Her M.Ed. in Critical Studies at the University of New Brunswick examined maternal thought and practice in Canada and Turkey. Sherrie has recently returned to Canada to pursue a PhD at UNB. (a8m6@unb.ca)

Kerem Doğurga

Kerem Doğurga is a Third Culture Kid (TCK) in a multi-lingual transnational, Turkish/Canadian, family. A life-long crafts person and multi-media maker, Kerem has an International Baccalaureate Diploma in Literature and Math, with a specialty in Visual Arts, from the American Collegiate Institute in Izmir, Turkey. He is a second year design student at Emily Carr University of Design in Vancouver, Canada. His current arts-based research interests are race, gender and culture.
