Abstract

This essay examines Michael Cook's Quiller as a parable of personal eschatology. The ambivalent symbolism in the play expresses the uncertain state of consciousness in the title character, who is caught between his sense of prophetic insight and ordinary perceptions. Cet article étudie Quiller de Michael Cook en tant que parabole de l'eschatologie personnelle. Le symbolisme ambivalent de cette pièce exprime l'état de conscience incertain du personnage principal qui est pris entre ses perceptions ordinaires et son sentiment d'avoir une vision prophétique.
