Abstract

In Sheila Watson's The Double Hook the community's embracing of a new language is in progress at the beginning of the novel. The movement of the characters is from fragmentation to community and from amoral denial to moral responsibility. Within this context, the motif of messages and messengers in The Double Hook becomes significant.
