Abstract

Is Northrop Frye's The Modern Century an expression of the negative Canadian archetype manifested in Canadian literary culture? Drawing on Biblical, mythical, and liberal perspectives, Frye is working toward an ethical prophesy, focussing upon the modern experience of progress.
