Abstract

Janet McNaughton examine deux complaintes de meurtres qui furent recueillies à Placentia Bay à Terre-Neuve. Elle trace le contour de deux types traditionels de complaintes de meurtres: celles où laccent est mis sur le meurtre dune jeune fille et celles traitant de lappréhension dun criminel par la justice. Elle montre comment les chansons terreneuviennes utilisent ces patrons et les modifient.
