Abstract

Madeleine Leclair reviews Helen Creighton’s latest book, La fleur du rosier, which presents the many Acadian songs she collected. Ronald Ldbelle edits the songs and provides notes, pointing out significant features. The songs come from four different regions in the Maritime provinces and were collected between 1944 and 1961. Madeleine Leclair says that the collection is so rich that it should appeal not only to the people of the region but to music scholars.
