Abstract
William Echard etudie les styles instrumentaux du celebre chanteur canadien de musique western Stomp in' Tom Connors, ainsi que l'image transmise sur scene par le chanteur. Echard, qui souligne les aspects a la fois innovateurs et conservateurs de la musique et du "look" de Stompin' Tom, se sert de l'idee de Benedict Anderson selon laquelle les nations sont des "groupements imagines d'individus" et du concept de "traditions inventees" de Eric Hobsbawm pour expliquer l'importance de Connors dans le developpement d'un nationalisme musical canadien.- The author retains copyright over the work.
