Abstract
Dans la foulée de la world music internationale et des tendances glocal des années 1990, les intellectuels et les politiciens du Salento. – région au sud de l’Italie – engagent autour du patrimoine musical paysan un processus de construction identitaire orienté vers le développement touristique et socioéconomique du territoire. La réflexion développée au cours de cette étude vise à expliquer comment une pratique musicale préexistante peut prendre des connotations symboliques inédites à l’intérieur d’un nouveau contexte historique et socioculturel, et comment la musique se voit modifiée en ce sens. Le territoire dont il est question se prête de surcroît assez bien à cette démonstration, étant donné qu’un mouvement revivaliste s’était déjà développé une première fois durant les années 1970 sous l’influence du folk revival américain.- The author retains copyright over the work.
