Author Biography

Amie F. Richards, Memorial University

Amie is currently a PhD student at Memorial University of Newfoundland, with expertise in loss, trauma, grief and disability. This article stems from her Honours Bachelor of Arts research, which she completed in 2021.

Since then, Ms. Richards has obtained her Master of Arts degree, which included a research project focused on the lived experience of parents of medically fragile children in Newfoundland and Labrador.

In addition to her studies and research, she is an advocate for parents of children with disabilities, working to ensure they have proper supports to ensure their own well-being and the well-being of their children.
