Abstract

It will be shown how analyses of tidal records of n*214 hourly heights, with n from 2 up to more than 10, can be quickly performed by using a PC. The method on which such analysis is based is the one developed by FRANCO and HARARI (1988). If the analysis of a 10^214 hourly heights span, very nearly equal to a nodal cycle, is worked out, then the main constituents and the respective satellites, a total of 1014, can be separated in 6 minutes and 25 seconds if a PC 386 DX (40 megahertz), with coprocessor, is available.
