Abstract

Historical research indicates there may be the remains of a 17th century Dutch shipwreck in part of an estuarine system in the south west of Western Australia. A variety of highly credible informants described the wreck in the 19th century, yet is seems to have ‘disappeared’. This paper endeavours to explain what happened to the wreck, why it 'disappeared' and where it is now.
