The article discusses the question to what extent biogenetic concepts can be used to evaluate manifestations of both textual transmission and authorial production. The manuscript sources being analysed are drawn from the Parzival Project, which presents a new electronic edition of Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival, written shortly after 1200 and transmitted in numerous witnesses up to the age of printing.

ER -
