As highly innovative thinkers, they introduced new interpretive dimensions into the study of history. Perhaps most importantly, they provided analysis of gender as a historical variant. Their work resulted in new interpretive insights, and they invented hermeneutic schemes without making any grandiose claims for innovation. Margaret Wade Labarge is one of this company. ER -
