Abstract

The Canadian Society of Medievalists / Société canadienne des médiévistes dedicates the following collection of papers on Scottish literature and history to the memory of Joanne Norman, who passed away in January 2007. Dr. Norman was one of the Society’s founding members and served as President in 1996-1997. She is fondly remembered for her dedication to the Society and for her energetic presence at its annual conferences. While the main focus of Dr. Norman’s research was the dialogue between literature, art, and culture in late medieval vernacular preaching, her work on William Dunbar remains a staple of Dunbar scholarship.
