Studies in Canadian Literature (SCL) is a biannual, bilingual journal devoted to the study of Canadian literature in English and French, and published at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. SCL is peer-reviewed, and welcomes submissions on all aspects of Canadian literature.

Announcing the Winner of the 2025 Herb Wyile Prize in Canadian Literature
The winner of this year’s Herb Wyile Prize in Canadian Literature is Julie Burelle for her essay "I Will Answer by the Mouth of (Your) Can(n)on(s)! Indigenous Theatre’s Riposte to Quebec’s Literary Canon" published in issue 49.2.
The winning article was selected by a committee of two adjudicators — Wendy Roy (University of Saskatchewan) and David Creelman (University of New Brunswick) — from among the essays that appear in SCL/ÉLC's two issues published in 2025. The prize has a value of $500.

Call for Papers — Multiple Marginalities: Intersectional Resistance(s) in Canadian Comics/Graphic Novels
We invite papers that address the following themes on Canadian comics but also welcome articles that move beyond these boundaries. We welcome papers in English or French.
We welcome submissions of essays of 6000-8000 words, including Notes and Works Cited, by 30 September 2026, on topics related to Canadian Comics. English contributions should conform to the MLA Handbook, 9th edition; French submissions to Le guide du rédacteur (Translation Bureau, 1996). Submissions should be sent via Word attachment to scl@unb.ca.
Publication projected for summer 2027.

Call for Papers — Speculative Futures in CanLit
Article submissions in English or French are invited for a special 50th-anniversary issue of Studies in Canadian Literature / Études en littérature canadienne on the theme of Speculative Futures in CanLit. The issue will be co-edited by John Clement Ball, Laura Moss, and Cynthia Sugars, and with a submission deadline of 30 June 2026.
