From Avalon to Alexandria

Bernard Kavanagh has a BA (HONS.), in Latin from Memorial University, an MA in Latin from the University of Georgia, and a PhD in Classics and Ancient History from the University of Alberta. Since 1997, he has been a professor in the Department of Classics at Queen's University, and his main areas of study and teaching are Roman history and Latin literature.  Bernard traces his passion for Roman history to his much earlier love of Newfoundland and family history, especially the>connections of Newfoundland with England, Ireland and much of western Europe.
