DOUGLAS BALDWIN taught in the History and Classics Department at Acadia University. He has published widely on medical and urban history with a concentration on Atlantic Canada.

TERRY McDONALD taught History and Politics at Southampton Solent University until 2002. Now retired, he is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Southampton's Centre for the Study of Britain and its Empire. He was editor of the British Journal of Canadian Studies from 2001 to 2005 and is a Trustee for the Poole Historical Trust.

R.W.H. MILLER is a Catholic parish priest working in the West of England. He is a founder member of the International Association for the Study of Maritime Mission. His London PhD is on the religious life of the early medieval mariner.

KENNETH NORRIE joined McMaster University in January 2002 as Professor of Economics and Provost and Vice-President Academic. He was the editor of Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de Politique from 1986 to 1990. He is the author or co-author of five monographs, including A History of the Canadian Economy (3rd ed.) with Doug Owram and Herb Emery.

GILLIAN POULTER teaches Canadian History in the Department of History and Classics at Acadia University. Her research interests are visual culture and the construction of national identities, women's culture, and immigration.

RICK SZOSTAK has taught at the University of Alberta since 1985. He is the author or co-author of nine books and some twenty scholarly articles, spanning the fields of economic history, history of technology, methodology, and interdisciplinary theory and practice. He recently co-authored with Gary Cross the second edition of Technology and American Society: A History.
