JOHN CHEESEMAN graduated from Memorial University in 2008 with a Masters degree in history, specializing in Newfoundland. He has been employed in the heritage industry as a museum interpreter and archives technician and continues to indulge his love for researching and writing Newfoundland history.

PAUL COLLINS has recently received his PhD in History from Memorial and has written extensively on Newfoundland and the Battle of the Atlantic.

JAMES HILLER is a Professor Emeritus in the Memorial University History Depart- ment.

PETER NEARY is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of History, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario. He is the author of Newfoundland in the North Atlantic World, 1929-1949 (Kingston and Montreal: McGill-Queen’s University Press, 1988).

RONALD ROMPKEY is University Research Professor in the Department of English at Memorial University.

DIANE TYE is an Associate Professor in the Department of Folklore, Memorial University. She is author of Baking as Biography. A Life Story in Recipes (King- ston and Montreal: McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2010).
