BEN BRADLEY is a doctoral student in History at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. His research focuses on technological systems and the landscapes of everyday life in twentieth-century Canada.

LAURA CAMERON is Canada Research Chair in Historical Geographies of Nature at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Her recent work addresses historical geographies of ecology, art and psychoanalysis.

COLIN M. COATES is Canada Research Chair in Canadian Cultural Landscapes at Glendon College, York University, in Toronto.

GÉRALD DOMON enseigne l’écologie du paysage et l’aménagement des paysages ruraux à l’Université de Montréal, où il est professeur titulaire à la Faculté de l’aménagement et directeur scientifique associé à la Chaire en paysage et environnement et à la Chaire UNESCO en paysage et environnement. Membre du Groupe de recherche en écologie forestière interuniversitaire, il codirige le vaste projet multidisciplinaire « Haut-Saint-Laurent : écologie et aménagement ».

LEONARD J. EVENDEN is a retired Professor of Geography, Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby, British Columbia.

KIRSTEN GREER completed her MA in Historical Cultural Geography at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, and has worked at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Museums of Mississauga. Her research interests include Victorian natural history and the cultures of nature.

MATTHEW HATVANY is Professor of Historical Geography at Université Laval. His work on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Quebec City is featured in Serge Courville’s and Robert Gagnon’s Atlas historique du Québec : ville et capitale.

PHILLIP GORDON MACKINTOSH is Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Brock University in St Catharines, Ontario, specializing in the social and cultural geography of the nineteenth- and early twentieth-century northern North American City, with a particular interest in the relationship between the geographic imagination and urban/social reform.

BRIAN S. OSBORNE is Professor Emeritus of Geography at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. A historical geographer, his research interests in recent years have addressed issues of national identity and the role of monuments and commemoration in the construction of places of memory.

SYLVAIN PAQUETTE est chercheur adjoint à la Chaire en paysage et environnement et la Chaire UNESCO en paysage et environnement de l’Université de Montréal, suite à un doctorat en aménagement à cette université et des études postdoctorales au Laboratoire de dynamiques sociales et recomposition des espaces, à Paris. Il a publié des travaux sur les dynamiques paysagères et sociospatiales des ensembles ruraux du Québec.

PHILIPPE POULLAOUEC-GONIDEC est un architecte paysagiste et plasticien de l’environnement associé à l’Université de Montréal à plus d’un titre : professeur titulaire et directeur de 1991 à 1996 de l’École d’architecture du paysage, cofondateur de la Chaire en paysage et environnement et, depuis 2003, fondateur et titulaire de la Chaire UNESCO en paysage et environnement. Par ses recherches, communications, créations, missions d’enseignement et interventions auprès des pouvoirs publics, il a largement contribué au développement de l’architecture de paysage.

MICHAEL C. WILSON is Instructor and Past Chair in the Department of Geology and also teaches in the Department of Anthropology/Sociology at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia. A PhD in Archaeology, he is interested in human use of the landscape as a residence for memory, and human impacts upon landscape evolution, especially in arid lands such as the North American Plains and the Loess Plateau of northwest China.
