GERALD BARIL, anthropologue, est chercheur au centre INRS-Culture et Société de l'Institut national de la recherche scientifique, à Montréal. Il enseigne aussi l'anthropologie du vêtement à l'École supérieure de mode de Montréal, où il a initié le projet Costumes du monde.

CHRISTINA BATES is Historian for Ontario at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and Curator of the Ontario History Collection. Her special interests are the Social History of Dress, and Women's History.

RANDALL BROOKS is Curator of Physical Sciences and Space at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa, and Editor of Rittenhouse, a specialist journal for the History of Scientific Enterprise in the Americas.

R. JOHN CORBY, born and educated in England, immigrated to Canada in 1947, where he worked at the National Research Council from 1948 to 1968. He was Curator of Industrial Technology at the National Museum of Science and Technology from 1968 to 1987.

DANŒLE DOSSETTO, ethnologue, est rattachée à l'Institut d'ethnologie méditerranéenne et comparative du Centre national de la recherche scientifique, à Aix-en-Provence. Elle a aussi acquis une formation et de l'expérience muséale en tant que conservatrice.

ANTOINETTE DUPLESSIS holds an M.A. in Canadian History from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, and has worked at the York-Sunbury Museum and the New Brunswick Museum. She is now with the New Brunswick Medical Society in Fredericton.

PAUL J. GRUCHY has a B.A. in History/Medieval Studies from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Certificate in Historical Conservation and Presentation from the University College of Cape Breton. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Folklore Studies at Memorial University.

RHONA RICHMAN KENNEALLY teaches Material Culture and Design History at the School of Architecture, McGill University, and the Department of Design Art, Concordia University.

DAVID MCGEE is currently a Research Historian at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, where he is working on the subject of Design in Technology.

MARCEL MOUSSETTE, ethnologue et anthropologue, est professeur titulaire à l'Université Laval et poursuit des recherches en archéologie historique sur des sites urbains et ruraux.

BRIAN S. OSBORNE is a Professor of Geography at Queen's University in Kingston. He is also a collector of historical maps with a particular ethnographic focus.

WALTER PEDDLE is Curator Emeritus, Newfoundland Museum, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Material Culture Studies at Memorial University in St John's.

PAT TOMCZYSZYN'S thesis, for an MSc (Human Ecology) from the University of Manitoba, was entitled "Le costume traditionnel: A Study of Clothing and Textiles in the Town of Quebec, 1635-1760."
