CALL FOR SUBMISSIONSDEMANDE DE COMMUNICATIONS A special issue oî Material History Review (No. 44, Fall 1996) will be devoted to the subject of "Housing." Intended to coincide with the opening of a major exhibit on Domestic Technology at the National Museum of Science and Technology, the issue will highlight current research in Housing employing interdisciplinary methods in Material History/Culture. Topics might include the interpretation of cities, neighbourhoods, or houses as artifacts of material culture; technology, food, decorative arts, textiles, and other "stuff of everyday life at home; and, questions of diffusion, production, intention, function, class, meaning, and difference as they are expressed through the material world of Canadian domestic life. Un numéro spécial de la Revue d'histoire de la culture matérielle (n° 44, automne 1996) sera consacré au « logement » et doit coïncider avec l'ouverture d'une importante exposition sur la technologie domestique au Musée national des sciences et de la technologie. Il fera le point de la recherche qui se fait actuellement sur le logement à l'aide de méthodes interdisciplinaires en matière d'histoire, y compris l'histoire de la culture matérielle. Les sujets peuvent comprendre l'interprétation de villes, de quartiers ou de maisons en tant qu'objets de culture matérielle, la technologie, les aliments, les arts décoratifs, les textiles et autres objets de la vie de tous les jours au foyer, ou encore des questions de diffusion, de production, d'intention, de fonction, de classe, de signification et de différence, bref les sujets exprimés par le milieu matériel de la vie domestique au Canada.
