With successive one-term governments, the NDP has been unable to capitalize on voters’ desire for change, while watching the Green and People’s Alliance Parties emerge and grow to supersede them. Several factors at the heart of the NDP’s struggles are illuminated, including a turnstile leadership approach, organizational challenges, and campaign strategies, while spillover effects from the federal NDP party are limited.
