The Journal is mourning the loss of one of its founding editorial board members. Professor Simeun Tomani… of the University of Zagreb passed away this fall after a long battle with cancer. He is listed as a member of the IJFE Editorial Board in volume 1, number 1, and has been a member ever since, in spite of communication difficulties created by the break up of the former Yugoslavia. He was heavily involved in the work of IUFRO Division 3 and instrumental in organizing the Ljubljana conference. Founding Editor, Jeremy Rickards, remembers his kindness and hospitality on that occasion. Without people like Dr. Tomanic, the Journal's establishment and continued operation would not have been possible. We are grateful for his contribution and saddened at his passing.
