Abstract
On 11 July 1910, the town of Campbellton was destroyed by fire. Only a few buildings were spared. The Government of Canada was actively involved in activities there, mainly related to port and navigation operations, postal services, and customs, as well as the Intercolonial Railway. This article examines and seeks to assess the losses sustained by the Canadian government during this disaster. It is estimated that approximately 7.75% of the total losses were incurred by the Government of Canada.
