1 Readers of Acadiensis, like the members of the editorial team, will have been greatly saddened to hear of the passing – in Saint John on 22 April 2012 – of Thomas J. “Tom” Condon. Tom Condon, who served on the Editorial Board and Editorial Advisory Board of the journal for well over forty years, was a true builder of Acadiensis. As dean of arts at the University of New Brunswick, he contributed crucially to both the vision and the resources with which the journal was launched in 1971. In extending condolences to his family, we feel the loss of an old and good friend of Acadiensis.

2 Les lecteurs d’Acadiensis, tout comme les membres de l’équipe éditoriale,  auront été profondément attristé d’apprendre le décès  -  à Saint  John  le 22  avril  2012 -  de Thomas J. “Tom” Condon. Tom Condon, qui a siégé au Comité de rédaction et puis au Comité consultatif de la revue pendant  plus de  quarante ans, était un vrai bâtisseur d’Acadiensis. En tant que doyen des arts à l’Université du Nouveau-Brunswick, il a contribué de façon inestimable à  la vision  et aux ressources  avec  lesquelles la revue a été lancée  en 1971.  Nous présentons nos plus sincère  condoléances à sa famille, en ressentant la perte d’un vieil et bon ami d’Acadiensis.
