Journal of New Brunswick Studies / Revue d’études sur le Nouveau-Brunswick

JNBS/RÉNB is an online, multidisciplinary journal that will feature peer-reviewed research and commentary about New Brunswick in English and French. The only such journal of its kind in New Brunswick, JNBS/RÉNB seeks to become a forum for ideas and debate about the province and its place in the wider Canadian and global contexts.


Journal of Student Writing

The Journal of Student Writing is a publication of the University of New Brunswick Department of English. Each year, we publish the best student essays written for undergraduate and graduate English classes. The Journal of Student Writing does not accept online submissions; essays are nominated by classroom instructors.

Linguistica Atlantica

Linguistica Atlantica, the journal of the Atlantic Provinces Linguistic Association (APLA), publishes articles on descriptive and theoretical linguistics. APLA was founded in 1977 to promote the study of languages and linguistics in Eastern Canada and was recognized in 1992 as a national organization by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. The Association hosts an annual conference each fall at a centre of higher education in the area and publishes the papers presented. Topics cover all areas of linguistics.


Material Culture Review

Material Culture Review provides a venue for refereed articles and research reports encompassing a range of approaches to interpreting culture through an analysis of people's relationships to their material world. Critical reviews of books, exhibitions, and historic sites, artifact studies and reports on collections encourage the use of material evidence in understanding historical change and continuity.


MUSICultures is the scholarly journal of The Canadian Society for Traditional Music / La Société canadienne pour les traditions musicales. It is a refereed journal that is published twice a year under the auspices of the Society.

Narrative Works

Narrative Works is an online, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal developed by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Narrative at St.Thomas University.  Narrative Works is a venue for disseminating scholarly work related to narrative that does not fit neatly within established disciplines,  publishing work by theorists, researchers, and practitioners working on a wide spectrum of topics that cut across conventional academic boundaries.

Newfoundland and Labrador Studies

Newfoundland and Labrador Studies is a refereed, interdisciplinary academic journal devoted to the history and culture (broadly defined) of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is a publication of Memorial University's Faculty of Arts. Special editions are published from time to time on specific themes. Recent examples include "Confederation" (17:2) and "The New Early Modern Newfoundland" (17:2 and 19:1). Documents, reviews and review articles are included in most issues.

R.C.M.P. Security Bulletins

R.C.M.P. Security Bulletins are a unique, static collection of primary documents digitised for the University of New Brunswick's History Department. No additional publication is scheduled for this title in this location.

From its inception in 1919-1920 the RCMP (initially the Royal Northwest Mounted Police) security service compiled periodic reports on "subversive" activity in Canada, which were circulated to the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Through use of Canada's Access to Information legislation Gregory S. Kealey and Reg Whitaker acquired copies of the extant Bulletins, which are now held by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. Eight volumes of Bulletins have been published, covering the years 1919 to 1945.

Studies in Canadian Literature / Études en littérature canadienne

Studies in Canadian Literature/Études en littérature canadienne (SCL/ÉLC) is a biannual, bilingual journal devoted to the study of Canadian literature in English and French, and published at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. SCL/ÉLC is peer-reviewed, and welcomes submissions on all aspects of Canadian literature.

Explores theatre in Canada from theoretical and/or historical perspectives, and reviews books dealing with all aspects of Canadian theatre / Les Recherches théâtrales au Canada publient des articles qui explorent les dimensions théoriques et/ou historiques du théâtre au Canada.
